SUMMARY:Transformative Innovation in Earth Observation
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Giuseppe Borghi\, head of the European Space Agency’s (ESA) ɸ-lab Division\, will discuss ESA’s plans for Earth Observation (EO). Dr. Borghi will explain why Satellite EO is key to growing the European space economy\, and to understanding and mitigating climate change. He will also present the transformative technologies being studied and developed at the ESA ɸ-lab@ESRIN (European Space Research Institute)\, such as Artificial Intelligence and Cloud and Edge computing\, which are instrumental to the way we will use EO. The seminar will be introduced by Professor Maria Brovelli and concluded by Professor Ludovico Biagi with a presentation of the educational programs on EO and related topics offered at Politecnico di Milano. \n \nIt will be possible to attend either in person (Aula Rogers) or remotely\, connecting to Prof. Biagi’s Webex room.
