SUMMARY:Webinar: Geographic Information Systems applied to health and healthcare related data: Health- Geomatics
DESCRIPTION:Geographic Information Systems are a key asset in processing georeferenced data\, whose collection and availability increased exponentially during the last decade\, and is still rapidly growing\, taking advantage of ICT technologies (especially with smartphones). The field of health and healthcare was not inert to this development: in particular\, Emergency Medical Services (EMS) are taking advantage of this technology\, collecting georeferenced records of both emergency calls and interventions with ambulance dispatches. In Lombardy region\, the provider of EMS\, namely Azienda Regionale Emergenza Urgenza (AREU)\, has started building this kind of databases in 2015\, and is currently collaborating with Politecnico di Milano to carry on scientific research. In this seminar\, an overview of the main projects conducted in this context in the last three years will be presented\, focusing on both the technological aspects and the potential application. \nThe speaker \nLorenzo Gianquintieri is a PhD candidate at Politecnico di Milano\, with an interdepartmental scholarship between DEIB (Information\, Electronics and Bioengineering dpt.) and DICA (Dpt. of Civil and Environmental Engineering)\, focused on research in the newly born field of Health-Geomatics\, by applying Geomatics techniques and technologies to health and health-care related data\, with specific target on Emergency Medical Services. \nThe virtual room to join \nhttps://politecnicomilano.webex.com/meet/maria.brovelli \n  \n201006Seminar_Lorenzo Gianquintieri
