SUMMARY:Seminar. How to access\, use and share the Copernicus Emergency Management Service data with GeoNode
DESCRIPTION:– The Copernicus Emergency Management Service\n– How to access Copernicus data\, download and use them in QGIS\n– GeoNode introduction and data publishing\n– The modern technologies\, Vector Tiles with a demo \nParticipants are required to bring their own laptop with the following software installed: a browser\, the QGIS desktop GIS software\, and a text editor (e.g. Notepad++ for Windows users). \nThe speakers \nSimone Dalmasso works at the European Commission\, Joint Research Centre (JRC) as technical coordinator of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service – Rapid Mapping\, which provides geospatial information in support of emergency management activities immediately following a disaster at a global scale. Simone has a Ph.D. in Geomatics with focus on Geospatial Open Source Software development and he’s a core developer of GeoNode. https://www.linkedin.com/in/simonedalmasso/?originalSubdomain=it \nSimone Balbo holds a Master’s degree in Territorial and Environmental Engineering (Politecnico di Torino\, 2008) and a PhD in Environmental Protection and Management (Politecnico di Torino\, 2012). He is specialized in the domain of geoinformatics with particular focus on applications related to emergency management: GIS map production\, geospatial data processing\, satellite remotely sensed data analysis and web mapping development.Currently he acts as coordinator of ITHACA production site for the Copernicus Emergency Management Service – Rapid Mapping module and as tool developer in the same service. He also works on: i) GeoNode (geonode.org) based projects as developer (examples are www.masdap.mw and haitidata.org) since 2012; ii) the Copernicus In-Situ component (www.insitu.copernicus.eu) as consultant to the European Environment Agency on geospatial reference data since 2016.
