Dear student,
The next meeting of the “Humanitarian Collaborative Mapping” course will be May 10th from 14:15 to 17:15, room S1.5 building 3.
We are honoured to announce that the event will be held together with the United Nations. During the event, we will have the possibility to have a remote connection with Mr. Kyoung-Soo Eom, who is the Chief of Geospatial Information Section, in the Department of Field Support at the United Nations. Mr. Eom will talk about the usage of geographic information systems in peace-keeping missions and the importance of volunteer mappers. Furthermore, Mr. Alessandro Palmas will join the event. He is a consultant in the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC). During the event, he will explain his work for a UN mission in Somalia and map with us on the task related to this mission.
Everyone is welcome to this meeting. Please remember to take with you a laptop and a mouse to do the mapping activity.
