Meetings with former Geoinformatics students: their experience.
Dear students, we are glad to announce that a Meeting of GIEWorks will be held in May, 26th, from 6:15pm to 7:15pm by remote connection in Teams. We will meet Dr. Eng. Sara Barozzi, from e-GEOS, and Dr. Eng. Michael Montani, from United Nations Global Service Centre.

The speakers
Sara Barozzi graduated in Geoinformatics Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. She is a geospatial data scientist, working at e-GEOS s.p.a., a company leader in the provisioning of geoinformation services. She works in the artificial intelligence and big data group, where she develops tools using various data sources, as satellite images, traffic data and ground sensors data and she participates in the management of Italian and European projects.
Michael Montani has a MSc in Geoinformatics Engineering and a BSc in Environmental Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He currently works as Senior GIS Consultant at the United Nations Global Service Center (UNGSC), where he coordinates crowdsourcing activities for open mapping in support of UN Peacekeeping missions. Formerly he has been co-founder of PoliMappers, a students’ group in Politecnico di Milano, and YouthMappers Research Fellow, for which he conducted a research project in Senegal.
