To provide the necessary expertise and skills, the study programme offers a variety of subjects. Teachers are assigned to these subjects and are responsible for designing their courses, delivering lectures, and organising practical and laboratory sessions. Teaching assistants are often involved in supporting the teaching activities. The courses are distributed across two semesters: the first semester runs from September to December, and the second semester runs from March to June. Each course has its own schedule and organisation, as detailed on the course page. Below are some important points about the structure of our programme.
Degree classes
LM 32
LM 35
INTER-CLASS Programme – Geoinformatics Engineering is a hybrid study programme that combines subjects characteristic of both Computer Science study programmes (CLASS LM-32) and Environmental and Land Planning programmes (CLASS LM-35).
Tracks
GEC track
GEO track
TRACKS – The study programme foresees two tracks: the GEC track is specifically designed for students with a computer science background. The GEO track includes foundational subjects in Computer Science, such as Computer Architecture and Operating Systems, and Software Engineering for Geoinformatics, which are essential for students with an environmental and land planning background.
Disciplinary sectors
ING INF/05
ICAR/06
ICAR/03
GEO/11
DISCIPLINARY SECTORS – Computer Science subjects are classified under the sector ING-INF/05, while Environmental and Land Planning Engineering subjects are classified under the sectors ICAR/03, ICAR/06, and GEO/11.

CREDITS OR ECTS – The subjects in the programme are each assigned a certain number of credits (5 or 10), corresponding to the required student effort (1 credit = 25 hours of student work). To graduate, students must earn a total of 120 credits: 45 credits from Computer Science subjects (ING-INF/05), 45 credits from Environmental subjects (ICAR/03, ICAR/06, GEO/11), and 15 credits from a thesis project.
Subjects

elective
MANDATORY and ELECTIVE SUBJECTS – The GEC track includes 8 mandatory subjects, while the GEO track comprises 9 mandatory subjects. Students can choose the remaining subjects from a selection of elective courses.
